Renovation
The owners have been involved in the renovation of the whole building for more than two and half years.
The original idea which has guided the choice of materials and method of construction was to reproduce faithfully the building as it was more than 200 years ago but transforming it into a villa without violating the original structure.
It has been a long and difficult job (also because to build anything in Italy is regulated so strictly by the National Trust that you need permission to move a brick! Two bricks are out of the question!).
However the owners have tried to incorporate all modern comforts in this antique context, using also the criterion of bio-architecture. Recuperated materials such as stones, bricks etc. have been used for the restructuring on the inside and outside of the house.
